I live in Wheeling WV and for decades a city park operated a small ski slope at Oglebay Park. In 1994 or 1995 they closed the area down.
A group of Ski enthusiasts mounted a drive to reopen the area and due to their hard work and fundraising there will be skiing at Oglebay once again. The slope is limited but it has aproximately 400' of vertical.
The area was served by two poma lifts but will now be served by a chairlift. They are also renovating the entire snowmaking system. If you are in the area please stop and enjoy.
