Just wanted to get a feel for who of the DC Ski crowd was planning on being at T-Line Presidents Day Weekend. Maybe we could gather for a drink apres ski at Timbers. I and the wifey are heading there Thursday nite so we can get some good runs in Friday before the crowd.

The spousal unit, myself, and my son who is coaching jr racers this season will be in the valley as well. Maybe we will have a repeat of the weather event of two years ago Toddies in the pub!

I was at T-line two two years for Presidents day weekend. Had to stay an extra day. It sounds like there may be a few freshies Saturday am.

Today...Areas of fog an drizzle this morning. Periods of rain this afternoon. Highs in the mid 40s. South winds 5 to 10 mph.Tonight...Rain showers and snow showers likely in the evening... Then snow showers likely after midnight. Snow accumulation around an inch. Lows in the mid 20s. West winds 10 to 20 mph.Thursday...Snow showers likely. Snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches. Much colder with highs in the mid 20s. Northwest winds 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. Chance of snow 60 percent.Thursday Night...Mostly cloudy with a 50 percent chance of snow showers. Lows around 17. Northwest winds 10 to 15 mph.

SNOW ACCUMULATION IN THE NORTHERN MOUNTAINS COULD RANGE FROM 2 TO 5 INCHES BY FRIDAY MORNING...BUT THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS ABOVE 3000 FEET COULD SEE LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS THAT COULD REACH UP TO A FOOT. N.W.S. 5 am (2/9/05)

Keep your fingers crossed

skiTline,
I'll be in the valley as well. We're arriving Friday evening 6ish (daughter has school that day). We're staying right on Timberline drive (number 8 I think). Maybe I'll see some of you guys out there. I'll be in my Bonfire orange shell with a Giro metallic orange helmet. My daughter will be in a LL-Bean pink shell with a helmet that matches mine (both of us have DCSki pins ). We're both skiers. Think cold and snow...

NWS is calling for 2-4 inches to fall in the lower elevations of Tucker County between early Thursday and Friday am. Could be 5+ at the ski areas, and up to 8 on the ridgetops. But there's no base on the unblown trails, so chances are good they won't open them.

I'm counting on next weekend after it snows more next week as being THE weekend of the season. We'll see... it's all a game of probability.

This sounds like the nearest thing yet to a DCSki gathering on the slopes this season. Have fun. Hope someone gets a group shot and posts it.

That does it, everyone has me itching to take a day off work tomorrow and head up to Tline from Wardensville. It'll be the first trip I"ve had to Tline this year. I normally try to get there around 8-9ish depending on how early I can get up. I'll have my digital cam and cell phone with me. What time is everyone else arriving and where does anyone want to meet at and discuss DCski stuff?

If that's what you see everytime somebody stylishly rips it up... then yes.
