Hello, I'm new here, and this is my first posting.

I googled for a bus service to any ski resort around here, but couldn't find any so far. Is there no bus service from MD/DC area to any nearby ski resort? I used to ride a bus to Wintergreen while I was living in Durham, although that's quite years ago. I haven't been skiing for more than 5 years because of my little kids, but I can't hold it any longer.

There was an attempt at a separately operated Saturday ski bus to Whitetail several years back, but it never came back. However, look into meetup.com for the "Capital Ski and Ride". It's a sub-group of the DC Ski Club. They'll create day-trips to the various reachable hills and many will ride-share from Shady Grove metro. Many of their members are car-less DC folks and the car-rich Md and Va members often comment how many spots they have, etc. Not quite a bus, but it can permit someone else to do the driving!

I've done an event or two with them. It can be a good group with a wide range of talents. Look into it.

...same thing (ride sharing) will occur on these boards as well. Beware some posters. They may be as talkative as their posts. ;-)
