There is a picture of Timberline's slopes on chip's page but I don't know when it was taken. He is either in the Chic Chocs or enroute so I must ask those of you who live in the valley for an up to date report. I'd settle for a continuous 300 vert of old glacier, especially if there were an inch or two of new snow on top. I'm thinking of Tues or wed. Anything at Canaan? What say you?

I see that this was just wishful thinking,

We need 6" or more new. There is no old glacier.

April 1 my son and I found about 200 yds of runout old glacier, cuppy and icy as could be, at the bottom of Dew Drop with one three-foot muddy connection in the middle. We couldn't see anything else on the mountain that looked rideable. We figured three runs was enough to make it an official day, so we hiked and rode it just enough for us to put it in the books as Day 5 of our season. We were sweating up a storm by the third hike but we had a blast riding Tline in April, especially after this season. I'm pretty sure those were the last runs of the season.

Nice, way to get after it.

What's the latest anyone's patch skied Timberline. I'll throw this out to start some discussion but I'm sure there have been plenty of turns made later than this. Hiked up dominion glade to ski The Drop on 4/23/10; I'm sure Chaga was there that afternoon so.............

You have me beat by a day, but then again do you have any pictures?

Here's a picture I took on 4/22/10, the day before you skied it.

I gotta go back a few years.... sorta like 20 or more, but there used to be the May Day (1st) Slalom at CV. The mountain manager used to start up the lifts for it. Could get in up to a dozen or more turns on Ramble or even Gravity. Hike in and out.
I also hiked upper WL one year back in the 90s to make turns on a strip of white along the skier right tree line before they cut them down. It was mid May that year.
Another time, we skied a strip of glacier on lower dew on a Memorial Day weekend just to say we did. That was back some time in the early 2ks. If you want me to get exact with dates, I'll have to research.

I have hiked and skied either TL or CV after APR 1 a half dozen times at least. I believe the latest was APR. 27 about 6 yrs. Ago. I'll try to find the pics.

Edited to add a link,

Unfortunately the link to a pic is no longer valid.

it's actually snowing now. unfortunately, because it's only a pain if you can't ski it and were already in warmer weather mode. monday night we had something i had never seen before. thunder/lightning and big chunks of snow. (like hail, but soft)
