These guys do backcountry skating in the eastern Sierra every spring and post their TRs. Last year they did 27 miles and 10,000 feet of elevation gain and loss in a DAY TRIP. Having taken up skating just this season and gotten to the point of being able to skate ~ 1/2 mile on flat ground without collapsing, I am just blown away. Look at the stuff they are skating up - and then descending!
