I would have posted this in the equipment forum. But I figured it was a valid question regarding multiple subjects that couldn't really be fit into one category.

Anyway, yesterday, I found this website:
Sled Dogs Snowskates

Quite frankly, they're really cool. And I read about them in the blog of a New York skier, so they must be allowed some places.

Anyway, knowing that most resorts only allow pre-approved types of equipment on their slopes, do you think I could get away with buying and possibly using these?

They just seem really kind of cool.

I remember seeing an infomercial on these a few years back. It showed guys mainly ski/skating on the streets.

I think if you skate up, and not walk to the lift, most lifties around here won't even care.

Caveat emptor: make sure you get the ones with the steel edges, there were some early ones that didn't have them.

IMHO, far better off with a miniski. There were some really nice ones out at WT this weekend. I remember one fellow on fat ones with Spruce Mtn risers and releasable bindings tearing it up on Bold Decision.

EDITED after fact checking.

I probably won't get these. I just thought they were kind of cool.

My next ski purchase (in the next year or two) will probably be telemarks.
