Well... its looking like conditions might be pretty sweet this weekend so I'm thinking of making a quick 2 day trip to Canaan Valley to soak it all up.

Does anyone know where the cheapest place to stay Saturday night in the Canaan Valley area would be?

Thanks!

try the village inn motel across from canaan valley stores, windwood hotel, or maybe the canaan valley state park lodge

perhaps worth looking into getting lodging and ski tickets?
If so, renting from Timberline Four Seasons Resort (REF.: herzwoods units) would put you within walking distance of slopes. There are basically 3 rental agencies in the valley.

Awesome... thanks for all the info! I've stayed at the Village Inn in the past so I may just do that again - it looks like I can get a room for $95 for one night - which seems to be about as cheap as it gets!

I'm thinking about skiing Saturday at Canaan and then spending Sunday at Whitegrass... I'm hoping the storm Friday is a big one!

$20 a night, now that's cheap! chaga - I'll send you a PM if we do decide to hit up WG

It also looks like I can also get a one night package at CV for $61 with a college ID that includes lodging, lift and even breakfast... man... seems like they'd be losing money on that deal!

Try calling Canaan Valley Resorts reservations or do it on their web site. They can also customize packages for you. Don't forget about Ski the Valley. It gives you access to both ski mountains.
