Dog and snow
February 12, 2009
Anyone know if dogs are welcome at any Snowshoe lodging?
We're taking a mid-week trip for my birthday the end of Feb. and I'd like to bring the dog along. We'd be looking for one of the condo-like places so we can cook decent grub (snowshoe has mainly disappointed me in that respect).

Lou would definitely know the answer to that question...
I made a reservation for Snowshoe back in December through their central reservation office and they made it sound like there are only a few pet-friendly rentals avaiable at the top of the mountain.
It looks like there are a few pet-friendly rentals available through VRBO:

awesome. thanks! will check em out now. that way we can take the whole family, baby, wife, dog, my dad and even me! The cat will have to fend for himself in DC.
anyone stayed at the whistlepunk place listed at mountain valley properties? It's #37.
i used to stay at the old spruce lodge and inn at snowshoe and i have stayed at a couple other places, which never included whistlepunk.
thanks!

Never been inside 37 but Whistlepunk is one of the best located condo complexes at the 'Shoe. Even they're one of the original condo complexes, they are generally very well kept and upscale. And convenient to everything. Plus the spa is right there too. It will be even better once they find a replacement for the old Red Fox and Yodeler's Pub, but that's another story.
