Provided the weather is halfway decent I'll be at Wisp next Sunday 12/14 for the $7 birthday discount skiing. Anybody else want to try to rendezvous for a few runs that day?
More info from Wisp site: http://www.wispresort.com/wisp/calendar.aspx?mode=detail&eventId=birthday

JimK,

Great idea! I'm planning to be there, so count me in for a DCSki.com rendezvous on Sunday at Wisp.

This should be fun. In another thread Tommo said they may have nearly all trails open by the 14th. Could be pretty busy if things are that good, but if Mainstreet is open we can find small lift lines there.

Unless someone has a better suggestion lets plan to meet up at 10:30am at the base of The Face trail. It's the steep one right in front of the main base lodge. I'll wear my puke green colored jacket and might wave a pole above my head. Muster for about 10 minutes then head out for some group cruising. We could also do a second meet up at same place at 1:30pm for stragglers. Looks like I will be riding out to Wisp in a friend's vehicle so I won't have total control of my destiny. If for some reason I miss first rendezvous I'll aim to make second.

I'm going to check with my spousal unit. We got one major problem depending on the weather....the dog. frown What do u do with a dog while skiing???? Just leave him in the car and take frequent doggie breaks????

Leave him in a car?! That's not fair! The dog should get to have fun on the slopes too!

Strap a snowboard on him and let him fly.

Plus, you can get some really cool YouTube videos that way.

(OK, I'm a little loopy this morning.)

He'd like to do that.... believe me. He's our snow dog and loves cold and snow but I'd worry about him catching too big air or being slammed by an out of control knuckle dragger. wink

I don't know Kim, from seeing him in the snow, I think it would be the knuckle draggers who need to watch out!

Still up for this. Looks like a mostly rain event Thurs and Fri with possible wintry mix, then good snowmaking temps Fri and Sat nights, with clear skies and 40 degree high for daytime Sunday. Wisp should have a decent selection of front face and North Camp runs open.

I hope to be up there on Sunday with the family. This will be the kids first day out on skis this season and they need to get use to their new (Longer - hand me down) skis. I'll try and stop by and say hi.

JimK,

I'll look for you around 10:30 on Sunday. Not sure what time I'll get up to Wisp, since I've got an Xmas party tonight.

You have a different cell phone # from last year?

Have fun guys, I hope we can at least do Blue Knob again.

I'll get to Wisp B-day one year when the Steelers are out of contention or they play another night or there's 3 feet of snow and in which ase I'll be at the Springs.
