In my shameless attempt to pad my post count in another thread I got logged out after I submitted my trivial comments. Am I being punished for being irrelevant or is there a new bug in the system?

Actually, it is a new feature, and it appears to be working correctly.

You're right, I'm as irrelevant as the Washington Capitals. ;\)

Touche. I set myself up like a bowling pin on that one.

But I'm really liking the future of the Caps. Ovi, Semin, Green, Backstrom is a pretty darn fine core. The waddlers are pretty well set with Crosby, Malkin and Fleury.

Thread hijack on a rainy Sunday afternoon. Most dominant hockey player ever?

Mario?
The Great One?
Gordie? (Gotta love the Gordie Hat Trick. Goal, assist and a fight.)
The Rocket?
Brett or Bubby Hull?
Messier?
Yzerman?

Me, I'm going with Parry Sound native, number 4 for the Bruins, Mr. Robert Gordon Orr. Revolutionized the game. Fastest skater of his era, one of the hardest shots, one of the toughest fighters, combined in one player. If knee surgery were as advanced as it is today, he'd be a career leader in a lot of the stats.

Some explanation for the non-hockey addicts on this board.

I love to ski.
Skiing is fast and dynamic.
One of the greatest feelings on the face of this earth is to look down on an untracked slope of powder. And then rip it.
I love to watch ski videos, aka ski porn.

I may love to play ice hockey even more than I love to ski.
Hockey is almost as fast as skiing, but more dynamic.
One of the greatest feelings on the face of this earth is look up the ice with the puck in your hands. And then go coast to coast and score.
Hockey highlights >> ski porn.

It's always winter inside a hockey rink.

IMHO, hockey is the best cross-training activity for skiing. Bar none.

HIJACK!!!!!!!!!!!

But, to stay with hockey for a minute, you can learn to ski, and become really good at it in a few years. Try to learn to play hockey, and it will give you a real taste of just how athletic these guys really are!!

I'm just a hockey fan, I can barely skate. I'm such a home town boy that I know little of hockey history so how can I be objective when it comes to picking hockey's most dominate player? You know who I would pick, #66.

Caps will be a good team for some time to come but not as good as the Pens. \:D

Ok, I'll post now and see if I'm logged off again.

Hey Rob, as much as I like "Le Magnifique", I have to agree with JohnL about Bobby Orr. And if you check out some of the TV commercials he does for Chevrolet Canada, the guy still looks like he could lace 'em up some 30 years after he retired and compete.

Warning: Semi-Hijack in Progress, if you talk to reporters who cover the major sports, to a person, they will most likely tell you that hockey players are the most approachable, decent guys near or away from their respective sport. Also, I know 1st hand what a humble, modest and great guy Sid the Kid is as opposed to the 1st class jacka$$ the Stillers employ as their starting quarterback. What a freakin' fraud!!! I hope the Stillers offensive line keeps deteriorating just to see that guy get punished.
