With most of the slopes being ridiculously packed, my daughter and I decided to hit Beeks Mountain for some back country action. With temps in the 40's yesterday in Blacksburg, the snow wasn't in the best of conditions but we managed.

As always, you gotta look good when you hit the slopes.

We started out with some nice gentle terrain to get things going. Check out the ride. Yea, I know you want one

As with all the best spots, you gotta earn your turns at Beeks.

But in the end it was all worth it because the back bowls at Beeks are off the hook! (do the kids still say that? )

There is a progression in these photos from cool fashionista to crazy thrill junkie. :-)

Nice TR. So what was best, plastic surf board or the inflatable tube?

Fashionista is probably a little more accurate than thrill junkie but she was definitely having fun.

The inflatable was fun but it ended up popping. The material got kind of brittle in the cold. It handled the powder conditions well on Thursday but the icy conditions were too much. But what do expect from snow gear purchased from Louisiana.

The surfboard is fast! I'd highly recommend it (especially for adult sized riders \:\) ).
