So whos gonna be in the Valley this weekend?? 2/9-2-11...
My Bday is Friday so who is buying me a beer at Timbers
I will be there -- new Tline homeowner this season (Woods End). Can't say about the beer...
Free Beer?
, i'll be there.
Anyone know how good is the cover in the trees, including in Cherry Bowl?
Congrats on new ownership
You will love having a place there. Been in Northwoods for going on 5 years. Love it. Spring, Summer and Fall are beautiful as well. I HATE leaving to go home.
And CVS (Canaann Valley Store) sells liquor. What else does one person need

JohnL, This from Whitegrass Report.

Km open: 50 as well as all the woods, Dolly Sods, and the entire local backcountry, state parks, and wherever you want to ski.
JohnL,
I've been wandering the same thing. Tline's webpage says Pearly Glades isn't open. Can't understand that, because it gets quite a bit manmade from the adjacent slopes.
No one has posted any TR's indicating the woods are skiable. Has anyone been in the woods to ski?
The cover was not deep enough last weekend for my purposes, but his weekend should be different. I think I unwrenched my cog so I'll be in the valley this weekend. Who's buying?
Who's buying?? first one there, I'll be 45 minutes late.
I'll be there, but not until saturday...hope y'all will leave some beer and pow for me!
The pearly glades have enough cover to be open; however it had some nasty breakable crust. Glade runner was good with plenty of soft snow. Last weekend you could ski trails where they haven't made snow. I suspect this weekend will be the same with another 8" of new snow. The cherry bowl might be possible.
I went up to Tline to check out the snow. I took a couple of pictures of the snow on Rt 32 as well as some in the woods at Tline. The last couple of pictures are of some off trail poaching. They aren't very good pictures, but you'll get a glance at how much snow the Valley has.

That looks like more snow than Park City!
(actually, I'm being partly serious about that comment)
Roger,
Is the west seeing a semi-inversion of the weather pattern that we have had out east?
