I've been thinking about hitting THE SHOE tomorrow since Upper Shays will be opening too. No word on Lower Shays....but was wondering how crowded it will be? I am off on Saturdays and Mondays and usually go on Mondays. I know the Ball Hooter lift always seems to back up but am figuring that Western Territory would be ok.

Also, Widowmaker I assume would be much better with the new lift...

Just FYI, Fairfax County Schools are off 1/25 and 1/26, so there may be additional volumes of Fairfax County types down there this weekend.

Ski Western Territory in the AM or until the slopes get too crowded for your taste. Then head over to Silver Creek and ski Bear Claw. You'll pretty much have that and the Flying Eagle lift all to yourself.

I figured flying Eagle would be as crowded as Ball Hooter, haven't made the trip up yet this year to see the new lift, cant wait! May make skiing Widowmaker not so CHERISHED anymore since the lift won't be as slow
