Ski Mag numbers that were just released today and will be hitting the newsstands Sept 26:

The top 10 resorts nationally:

1.Vail
2. Deer Valley, Utah
3. Snowmass, Colo.
4. Whistler/Blackcomb, B.C.
5. Park City, Utah
6. Breckenridge, Colo.
7. Aspen, Colo.
8. Beaver Creek, Colo.
9. Steamboat, Colo.
10. Sun Valley, Idaho

The top 10 resorts in the East:

1. Tremblant
2. Smugglers Notch
3. Whiteface
4. Killington, Vt.
5. Sugarloaf, Me.
6. Stowe, Vt.
7. Sunday River, Me.
8. Okemo, Vt.
9. Holiday Valley, N.Y.
10. Bretton Woods

Wow Whistler fell to number 4! That's a huge change considering they were always #1 or #2.

Whistler's fall to 4 may have to do more with the uncertainty of Mother Nature (lack of snow, especially below mid mountain) than anything else.

By the way, this is a North America ranking (i.e. Whistler, Tremblant are on the list), not a national ranking.

What about the Mid-Atlantic (Who is on top? Showshoe, Seven Springs, Wisp?).

The subscriber base in this region is usually not big enough to get a local resort in the ratings. Usually, 7 Springs or Snowshoe get some sort of honorable mention...
