Snowshoe Communications Director Joe Stevens posted this in his weekly column, which means ten new acres (or there abouts) next year on the basin side!

The word out of Mountain Operations is the plug has been pulled on snowmaking for the time being. Really, there isn't any sense marking snow to be perfectly honest. In fact, the snowmaking crews have already started clearing some trees (site preparation) on about 10 acres around the Snowshoe basin side for additional terrain next season.

As I understand it from friends who work at Snowshoe, several new runs will be added to the slope between Widowmaker and Ballhooter. I wasn't told whether Hootnanny, Jhook and Flume runs will be scrapped or just added to. Judging from the pitch of that section of basin, I expect the new runs will be blues and maybe an additional black.
I was also told that new runs would be added to the north of Yew Pine but no date was given.
