I would be grateful if the anyone has recommendations for a handyman in Canaan.

From the look of massive number of responses you have become painfully aware of the lack of availability of "qualified" handymen in the valley. Having moved here full time over 6 years ago, we have learned who can and who can't and who will and who won't. If you find someone please be aware that they go by "timberline time" for scheduling. Back to your question, what do you need done?
Hard to find even in large population centers. It will only get worse as the population ages out.
I do most of my own work now.
