Ski Liberty opened for the 1997-98 ski and snowboard season Wednesday at 3 p.m. On Thursday, Ski Liberty is open from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. Nova, Sneaky Pete, and the Snowboard Park will be serviced by the Double Chairlift #1 and the Double Chairlift #3, which will be running to the mid-station only.

Base depth ranges up to 12”. With a high temperature of 51 degrees forecast for Thursday, snow conditions will soften as the day progresses. Lift tickets and rentals are $10 each; a learn to ski or snowboard package is $15.

Area resorts will make snow as temperatures permit, but the 5-day forecast shows a period of warming - high temperatures in the low 60’s are possible for Friday. This may force resorts such as Liberty, Roundtop, and Whitetail to suspend operations until more snow can be made. Be sure to call the resort to check conditions before making a trip in the coming days.
