West Virginia’s Snowshoe Mountain Resort has big plans in store for the Fourth of July weekend, culminating with a mountaintop fireworks display on Saturday, July 3.
Prior to the fireworks, Snowshoe will offer an all-American cookout from 4:30 - 8:30 p.m. The buffet menu will include items such as barbecue chicken, ribs, watermelon, and apple pie. Cost is $13.50 for ages 13 and older; $5.25 for children 6-12; and free for children 5 and under. The cookout will be held in Shavers Plaza.
The Roanoke-based “Encore” music group will provide live entertainment in Shavers Plaza from 6:30 - 9:30 p.m., moving to the Connection nightclub starting at 10 p.m.
The best views of the free fireworks display will be from the top and bottom of Skidder Slope. Fireworks will start at dark, and the resort recommends that people arrive early, as the show has attracted large crowds in past years.
