John Phillips, author of the Mid-Atlantic Winter Sports Guide, has just published a second edition of his definitive guide to Mid-Atlantic skiing, now titled Ski & Snowboard America: Mid-Atlantic and published by Globe Pequot Publishing.

The original book was published in 1997, and quite a bit has changed since then. The second edition takes a second pass at resorts from Pennsylvania to North Carolina, providing detailed statistics and resort profiles. The book covers forms of winter sports from downhill skiing and snowboarding to cross country skiing and snow tubing. Within the book’s 320 pages, readers will find trail descriptions from beginner to advanced, snowboard park and halfpipe roundups, historical information, activity guides, and tips on lodging, dining, and travel.

John is an avid snowboarder and contributes reports on the Mid-Atlantic scene for numerous publications, including DCSki.

The second edition is available now. You may purchase it by clicking one of the following links, or by checking your local bookstore.

This book is awesome. I throw it in my car and use it's directions and descriptions of each resort to guide my next ski trip. This guy really knows hi snow!
