What’s New for 2008: Liberty Mountain Resort 1
Author thumbnail By M. Scott Smith, DCSki Editor

Liberty Mountain Resort is investing $3.6 million this summer in capital improvements. The Pennsylvania ski area has begun expanding its Main Lodge, with plans to double the size of the Alpine Food Court. A vaulted sky-lit roof will welcome visitors, along with a refreshed menu.

Also in the lodge, the Boarderline Snowboard Rental Shop will be expanded and remodeled, and the locker room and basket check area will be expanded.

Fully automated and more efficient snowmaking is being added to the Ultra Trail, Whitney’s Way, and the Boulder Ridge Snow Tubing hill. The $1.4 million in snowmaking upgrades should allow Liberty to open this terrain sooner in the season.

The current trails that have the automated snow making really did a nice job last year. It is more efficient, and GREEN as they say. Less energy wasted and this is more important now then ever. they open trails faster then ever before.

SnowTime does invest every year. That is a plus for us locals.

Lets face it, without the investment in snow making and grooming we would see a lot of green and brown instead of Snow White.
