What’s New for 2005: Liberty Mountain Resort
Author thumbnail By M. Scott Smith, DCSki Editor

Things will be brighter at Pennsylvania’s Liberty Mountain Resort this winter, thanks to an upgrade in the resort’s lighting system. Over the past week, Liberty has been burning in new lighting fixtures on the Blue Streak and Lightning trails for 100 hours nonstop, lending an unusual summertime glow above the mountain. The Heavenly trail will be next to receive upgraded lighting, later this fall. The multi-year project will result in standardized lighting fixtures across the entire mountain, with all electrical lines buried.

Both the lanes and the lodge at the Boulder Ridge Snow Tubing area are being expanded this summer, and Liberty is also installing new computerized equipment to enhance snowmaking.
