Shawnee Mountain will unveil two new lifts this winter and a refurbished lodge. $1.5 million in improvements also includes additional inventory for the resort’s rental shop and improvements to snowmaking.

The new Partek Double-Double chairlifts are replacing the older two Lookout Lifts. Side by side and stretching 3,200 feet from the base area to the summit, the new twin lifts are state-of-the-art and share the same double-double tower system. Combined capacity for the new lifts is 2,400 skiers per hour.

The Hope Ski Lodge is being enhanced with a refurbished cafeteria, remodeled restrooms, and a new NCR network cafeteria/restaurant/bar register system.

The Pennsylvania resort is improving snowmaking by adding new high efficiency HKD tower mounted snow guns. Shawnee Mountain’s aggressive snowmaking and grooming has allowed the resort to claim the longest ski season in the Pocono Region for the past four winters.

Finally, Shawnee Mountain has expanded its rental shop fleet through the addition of 850 pairs of new Dynastar shaped skis with Salomon bindings, 200 new Original Sin snowboards with Switch bindings, 300 new pairs of Vans snowboard boots, and 200 pairs of Dalbello ski boots. The Shawnee Mountain Rental Shop is capable of outfitting over 4,500 customers.
