The 2008 National Ski and Snowboard Expo will be held at the Dulles Expo Center in Chantilly, Virginia from November 7-9, 2008, providing a chance for D.C. area skiers and boarders to interact with over 100 nationally recognized ski resorts, travel destinations, manufacturers and retailers. This year, the National Ski and Snowboard Expo is combining with the Northern VA/DC Travel Show for the first time.

“The total area of the show will exceed 85,000 square feet at the Dulles Expo Center,” said Fred Zedeck, organizer of the event.

This year marks the 20th anniversary for the show.

Admission to the Expo is $10, and parking is free. With each ticket purchased, visitors will receive their choice of a one year subscription to Ski, Skiing, TransWorld Snowboarding, or Island Travel magazine. There will also be a free ski pass give-a-way for ski areas in Virginia, Maryland, and West Virginia each day of the Expo.

The 2008 Expo will feature Warren Miller’s new snow thriller movie, Children of Winter. The full length movie will be shown free every two hours throughout the weekend to Expo goers.

Maryland’s Wisp Resort will sponsor a Rail Jam at the Expo, allowing skiers and snowboarders to compete for cash prizes.

The Travel Show component of the Expo will include travel agent seminars, programs, and travel features for the whole family.

Show hours are 4-8 p.m. on Friday, November 7, 2008; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, November 8; and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, November 9. For more information on the event, visit www.nationalskiexpo.com.
