and the place it started for the 12/13 season WAS NOT in Colorado

It WAS NOT in Oregon

It was at Wild Mountain in Taylors Falls, Minnesota on October 7.

Saw that clip and it made me wonder what force is propelling the skiers and riders. Sure didn't appear to be gravity. There is essentially no pitch.
