At least for now, Laurel Mountain = Lost Ski Area

Although I've hiked a bit in the Laurel Highlands during the summer and fervently wish that Laurel Mountain would reopen for lift-served skiing, it hasn't operated since the 2004-05 season.
That makes 7 seasons that Laurel has been closed. According to today's article (March 31, 2012), opening for 2012-13 isn't possible, 2013-14 is a maybe, and 2014-15 is "more like it". Those who have posted in the "breaking news" thread for Laurel Mountain -- now 74 pages long -- seem skeptical about the ropes ever dropping on Laurel's runs if the current operational arrangement remains in place.
I don't mean to commit heresy, but, at least for now, Laurel Mountain should appear on DCSki.com's list of Lost Ski Areas. Let's give this area's history its due recognition with a great writeup (complete with photos, maps and so forth) of its history as a ski area....
... and keep up the efforts to get it reopened!

......or, we could just quietly do nothing and earn our turns there
Anyone sign up for the PA-DCNR work days yet?
