Skiing with your daughter is pretty good too...
Indeed! I did it many times before (and after) she had the grandsons. The grandson in question is a middle child, sensitive and not inclined all the time to stand up to his brothers. It is a Mad River family, which doesn't allow snowboards. Last season the middle child (then 9) suffered the indignity of being surpassed by his very gifted 6 year old brother. He wants to have his own thing. He asked for a snowboard day with grandpa for Christmas. I have fooled around with the snowboard for a few years but I'm not much good. After the morning I couldn't keep up any more and had to go back to my skis, but the wish for a snowboarding day with Grandpa was fulfilled. It was amazing to watch. He got visibly better with every run. He really enjoyed it and so did I. I checked in advance with his parents and they were OK with it. He gets to go at least one more time this season with his Cub Scout Pack.
