I saw a robin today in Mount Airy. First sign of spring? Personally, I'm sticking with this sign of winter...

Spring must be on the horizon. The deer here in WV are really starting to move also.

...David that is a great pic...those must be southern WV deer because the deer up in here in Canaan are using snorkels at this point...there are some deer that are using snowshoes and crosscountry skis, but they are not allowed in the wildlife refuge...unless they are shooting other deer..because they wouldn't want to disturb the wildlife???

David - what's the story on that pic? Was that taken in Canaan Valley, or is that one of those pics that circulates the web wink

That's a neat pic, though I am starting to feel bad for the deer here in southwestern PA. Recently the only movement I have seen out of them is on the plowed roads at night eating road salt and snow.

The PA game commission got a lot of help with their top secret Project Eliminate Whitetails this winter.

Abe, someone sent it to me yesterday in a FWD email. He said he saw it a year or so back and thought it was appropriate for this winter. I'm not sure of the location but I do know it is at least a few years old. Although I'm sure that's what the deer look like walking around the Valley right about now.

They're after the junipers around here.
