Does anyone know/remember when the area resorts typically close for the season? If I wanted to ski locally for the last 2-3 days in March, which resort is my best bet? Thanks.

I know I'm out of sync with this -- since everyone's talking about ski resort openings.

Depends. I think this year, you will see more areas closing in mid to late march due to the economy. T-line is a good example. They were the only area open the first weekend in April last year in the MA. This year they already announced the last weekend in March as their last. You may want to go north. Anything from k-mart north will still have snow and skiing through Easter weekend.

kwillg6,

Thanks. I think I ask this question every year -- and keep hoping for a better answer.

T-Line and Snowshoe will still have plenty of snow and few skiers by the end of March. Unless something highly unusual and out of the ordinary happens March is typically the best and most dependable skiing of the season.
I still remember skiing in two feet of fresh powder April fourth at T-line in April (2005 I think)Last day of the season and they had $1 lift tickets.

I am not sure what better answer you could want?

For the Pennsylvania hills, Blue Mountain is among the last to close.

15 years ago I remember skiing there on the first Sunday of April (closing day) until noon, and then I drove to Reading and played 9 holes of golf --

now that's a combination you wouldn't normally think about doing in Pennsylvania!

That the resorts would stay open longer.
