Anybody try this yet? Not that we've had too many chances. Tomorrow (Monday 2 Mar) might be a candidate. I guess you just show up and tell them you and your kids are out of school??

Massanutten Resort, Virginia: If school is closed due to inclement weather, Massanutten invites students and their parents, faculty, and staff to the slopes with discounted rates. On snow days, lift tickets will be $25, and rentals will be $20. (Added November 16, 2008)

Know if other areas have similar discounts? Searched Wintergreen, found nothing.

Jamie would have liked Massanutten today. "Snow day" pricing in effect, $25 for 8 hr ticket. All trails open, crowds light in AM, moderate in PM. About 6-7" of light fresh snow, lots of cut up chop to blast through for much of the day. Beautiful sunshine, not too windy. 25 degs. Best local conditions I've experienced this season. Weird thing, got 6" at home in Falls Church enough to cancel school for my son. Once we got about 30 miles west of Beltway on I66 there was no snow, until we got about 30 miles from Massanutten, then 6+ inches on ground again.
