I have business in Denver (Lakewood) the week of May 12. I'll be flying out on the 11th & return on the 19th. That leaves 2 full days, 17 & 18, to ski and the late PM of the 11th since I arrive in Denver at 11:30. I hope to do a few hitchhiking runs in Loveland Pass on the 11th, as I did last year at this time. On the 17 & 18 I plan on A-basin, although perhaps Loveland is still open too. I like them both.

Anybody else going to be there at this time? Company would be welcome. I'm trying to join up with a friend out there but haven't heard from him yet.

If my work schedule permits I'd like to do Mt. Washington's summit snowfields and Great Gulf after the auto rd. opens to the summit in late May or early June.

Denis, there's a small chance I might be up for that. I'll pm you if that's okay... can you bring your grandson so he can teach us a thing or two about how to ski? \:\)

ps- just checked, Loveland is closing on the 4th.

I had been thinking about Snowbird in May, but I'm still powder-drunk from my April trip. I can probably ride that through to next fall before I get the urge again. But anybody who is contemplating Snowbird ought to go -- it's phenomenal right now, and will be for weeks to come. Blows my mind when I think about it!

I had a dream last night that I was skiing. It was after midnight, so technically it was May. Does that count for anything??

Roger, Sent you a PM and would be happy to have your company.

As to my grandson, well he is 10. He also probably has a 3x better power to weight ratio than me. I hope we can teach him that the mountain always has the last word - before the testosterone kicks in. In the Mad River kids development program he is pretty close to the mean for 10 yr. olds. MRG kids are good. \:\)

Denis- 6 inches of new snow and 10 degrees F this morning at A-Basin. 82% of their terrain is open, including most of Pallavicini.

Unless there's a drastic change in weather (which does happen this time of year), you should be in for a good trip in two weeks! My plan if I come is to camp out somewhere, maybe in the parking lot (if they allow that)...

I emailed them to ask when is closing day and got an answer, June 8. So ask them if you can camp in the parking lot. Good chance IMHO. It is that kind of place,
