Patroller types -

What the heck is the code! For years I have been seeing signs on lift towers saying "know the code" "5383" or something.?????

what code? the scout code? Gang code? Morse code? How am I suppose to know it if I cant even make out what the marketing campaign is all about!

It's on the back of many lift tickets. The fact that you ask the question shows dramatically how ineffective NSP and PSIA (I teach part time) can be at communicating with the public. I know it's a hard job and maybe I could do no better. Still it seems to me that they have little understanding of what the public knows and can relate to. Without a good going-in understanding of that they miss the mark much of the time.

I figured the code in question was the Skier's Responsibility Code, but I have no clue what the 5383 is about...

That is what is on the back of lift tickets. I always figured to a liablity wavier. If I ski into a tree I will not sue.....

Ok maybe the numbers are wrong, it is four numbers starting with a 5XXX
