I thought all of you of a metrological bent would be interested to know that Accuweather pro currently is forecasting that CV will get 11.7" of snow next Friday-Sunday (1/12-13).

I know forecasts this far out are iffy at best, but we can dream can't we?

I'm sure this has been asked before, but what weather sites (pay and free) do people use?

As my first post implies, I use the Professional Version of Accuweather (pay).

What sort of features does the Profession Version of Accuweather have that the regular version doesn't??

David,
Rather than list the products that I think are useful and leaving out something you might be interested in, here is a link to their comparison page.

Shameless plug: http://hunter.pairsite.com/wx/

For regional snow forecasts, this is an excellent resource:

Sheeezzeh! I thought I was a weather geek. You guys put me to shame! \:\( Hey, isn't this the time of year that someone put out a poll for predictions for the season's snowfall? Colonel?

Here's the pro forecast for Snowshoe, from my Wx weather app. I dumped it to an HTML file so I could print it and take with me, and figured it might be of interest to other folks. The forecast is for the basin side at about 4700 ft elevation.

This is from the latest model runs as of 10:20am Friday. The forecast between now and Monday AM ought to be pretty solid. The forecast beyond Monday AM is less reliable.

I am curious -- how much do you guys pay for Accuweather Pro?

For some reason the skier219 forecast for Snowshoe won't open.
Anybody else have this problem?

I have only paid $10 a year for Weather Underground & thought Accuweather wanted too much for weather that you can for the most part get for free...I Mostly pay the 10 bucks at weather underground to get the adds & popups blocked off. The WX Site at $16.95 looks like it would be worth getting Though...I will sell you all my acsess code to Weatherunderground for half price..any takers?

Yeah. I left you the 5 dollars under the snowbank at T-Line's entrance. It is the one on the left.

Ah, you know what, I bet some browsers don't display TIFFs, which is the image format I use (it happens to work in Safari on my Mac). Here's a PDF print of the forecast, just to give you an idea what it was "supposed" to look like:

http://members.cox.net/hunter-associates/wx-pro.pdf

I'll just dump a PDF next time, that should work for everyone. As a heads up, I see "chance of snow" heading into next weekend, but it's too early for details.
