Long range forecast fans....
January 6, 2008
I thought all of you of a metrological bent would be interested to know that Accuweather pro currently is forecasting that CV will get 11.7" of snow next Friday-Sunday (1/12-13).
I know forecasts this far out are iffy at best, but we can dream can't we?
just dont look at the 6th-11th.
la la la la la la la <hands over eyes and ears>
I'm sure this has been asked before, but what weather sites (pay and free) do people use?
JohnL ... get back to work ...
As my first post implies, I use the Professional Version of Accuweather (pay).

What sort of features does the Profession Version of Accuweather have that the regular version doesn't??
David,
Rather than list the products that I think are useful and leaving out something you might be interested in,
here is a link to their comparison page.
I also use Accuweather Professional. Joe Bastardi is awesome.

Sheeezzeh! I thought I was a weather geek. You guys put me to shame!
Hey, isn't this the time of year that someone put out a poll for predictions for the season's snowfall? Colonel?
Here's the pro forecast for Snowshoe, from my Wx weather app. I dumped it to an HTML file so I could print it and take with me, and figured it might be of interest to other folks. The forecast is for the basin side at about 4700 ft elevation.
http://members.cox.net/hunter-associates/wx-pro3x.htmlThis is from the latest model runs as of 10:20am Friday. The forecast between now and Monday AM ought to be pretty solid. The forecast beyond Monday AM is less reliable.
I am curious -- how much do you guys pay for Accuweather Pro?
I made my predict back in oct but have not been able to find it looking back at my posts...Anyway it was either 138 or 142 for Canaan...lets just say 140..got about 90 more to go!
I couldn't get the graphics to load.... must be a PC thing
For some reason the skier219 forecast for Snowshoe won't open.
Anybody else have this problem?

Yeah, I had the same problem....
I have only paid $10 a year for Weather Underground & thought Accuweather wanted too much for weather that you can for the most part get for free...I Mostly pay the 10 bucks at weather underground to get the adds & popups blocked off. The WX Site at $16.95 looks like it would be worth getting Though...I will sell you all my acsess code to Weatherunderground for half price..any takers?
Yeah. I left you the 5 dollars under the snowbank at T-Line's entrance. It is the one on the left.
You may be cooler online but U is Stupid in real life Dude!! Didn't you pay attention to the long range f-cast? That Snowbank will melt before I can get up there.. someone else will get it you Mudda!...This Meltdown Although intense looks to be shorter lived than original thinking..will get a cooler shot wed with a little snow action above the usual 3000'...& then another cooler(Like David) shot fri nite into the weekend...could get interesting...stay tuned!
Ah, you know what, I bet some browsers don't display TIFFs, which is the image format I use (it happens to work in Safari on my Mac). Here's a PDF print of the forecast, just to give you an idea what it was "supposed" to look like:
http://members.cox.net/hunter-associates/wx-pro.pdfI'll just dump a PDF next time, that should work for everyone. As a heads up, I see "chance of snow" heading into next weekend, but it's too early for details.
Yep, that worked.
