Hello from Southern Indiana. Currently we have no snow in the Paoli Peaks area but just north of us they got 4 inches. So we will be getting our first snow soon. Check this blog for updates and other info on southern Indiana skiing.

When you think of skiing you may not think of Southern Indiana, but we have three ski facilities that are located here. Ski Paoli,Perfect North Slopes, and Pines all are in Southern Indiana. I run a resort located 15 miles from Paoli Peaks so I thought I would blog about conditions here. We currently have no snow in the Paoli Peaks area but further north they got 4 inches, so we will be getting our first snow fall of the year soon. Ski Paoli is open and ready to make snow as soon as the temps are right but We love the "real deal". We have a link to Ski Paoli on our website http://www.patoka.com as well as information on other events in the area including the French Lick Casino. We also have ski packages as well so if you are planning a trip to this area check us out and save some dough. Hope to be writing soon about tons of snow and open trails. Patoka 4 Seasons

Welcome!

I have written 2 articles on Paoli for this web site. Use the search function to find them.

Going Further Afield: Skiing at 4 a.m.? (January 2, 2003)
In this guest article, DCSki reader Robbie Allen, currently on business in the midwest, describes his experience skiing at Kentucky's Paoli Peaks ski resort. At 4 a.m. (As Robbie explains, Paoli Peaks stays open around the clock on weekends.)

Going Further Afield: Paoli Peaks, Indiana (February 3)
Traveling in the midwest, DCSki Contributor Robbie Allen swung by Indiana's Paoli Peaks ski resort. He provides a description of the small ski area and his own philosophy on skiing, a philosophy that has been grasped by Robbie's six-year old son.

Currently I am on assignment in Hebron KY so Southern IN other resort is my new focus PERFECT NORTH. They opened last weekend but I think the rain out them on Sunday.

Yeah Perfect North opened last Friday, Saturday and Sunday but closed to conserve snow due to the warm temps and the rain. Their website says they hope to be open this Thursday and if not most likely by Friday with caveat of no late night sessions this weekend since they need to run all the guns.

I was hoping paoli could pull thourgh and open this weekend, but looking at the web cams and given the rain I dont think it will happen. Perfect will have a tough time reopening as well.

Ski conditions have improved greatly this holiday week in Southern Indiana. Clear skies and cold temperatures for Christmas day with highs in the 50's and lows in the 20's! Ski Paoli Peaks is open for business with 8 runs open and a 9" to 30" base. The outlook for the week is excellent except for the 27th with a chance of rain. But that will not stop the action at the French Lick Casino. Both the French Lick resort and West Baden Hotel are decorated for the holidays as well as downtown French Lick. That will put you in the mood!
Here at Patoka 4 Seasons Resort we are open for the rest of the year with winter rates till the middle of March and ski packages available. Our 10 private hot tubs and 5 private Jacuzzis are waiting to soak away a hard day of skiing, or relaxing in front of a warm fireplace to prepare for the next days attack. Please come visit us and bring your ski photos and ski stories to share with us. We would love to post them on our bulletin board or photo blog. Hope to see you soon. Dave

A new year and new SNOW for southern Indiana! We received about an inch on New Years Day and an addirional inch on the 2nd. Add to that temps in the low teens and you have great ski weather. Better come and enjoy it soon looks like a warm up is headed our way. But snow or no snow you can always enjoy your stay at Patoka 4 Seasons Resort. Its hard to complain about the weather when you are soaking in a hot tub looking at the stars. Come see us snow or shine
