In today's view from the Sods webcam on Canaan Heights, it doesn't look like it. CV's trail look white and there is just a bit of residual natural snow at Whitegrass, but nothing visible at T'line. What's going on?

Do you think most resorts around here are done with testing their snowguns?

I suspect Timberline is worried about the warm front. Why make snow if it is just going to melt.

I expect you'll see some heavy snow making later this week. The warmfront melted a lot of their snow. Having seen this weather pattern the last few years why is anyone surprised anymore. I think the noticeable lack of complaining this year is an indication of our acceptance of crappy December skiing. Colorado is doing ok this year though.

No, Colorado is not doing okay this year Liet. It's all snowmaking terrain and ONLY snowmaking terrain right now. The snow they're getting today is the first snowfall they've received since mid-October. Wolf Creek is talking about how their skiing is "great" and all they have open is their beginner run. The folks I know on the Front Range are already worried about the upcoming water year- they think all signs right now point to snow drought. I think they're probably getting ahead of themselves, but this year has been exceedingly weak snowfall-wise so far. Not sure Utah has done much better over the last month, either. It looks like the storms are primarily tracking north- JH might be doing alright but I haven't checked on Canada.

Kansas City might be 8 hours from Denver, but we watch the Front Range weather here as closely as back in DC y'all watch the WV Alps. Frisco/Dillon is the weekend escape for everyone from Sioux Falls south to Oklahoma City.

Utard is hurting right now. Solitude is the only place open with 2 groomers. Temps are finally cold enough to make snow at 8000ft. Last week it was 40F at alta.

We might start seeing some storms blow through in the next week to 10 days. Nothing expected sooner than that.

When I went outside of our house (in ol' Tmiberline) yesterday morning, I could hear the guns running tho they had shut down by the time we drove home in the afternoon.

It would be nice if they got the webcam working. The new website is a lot worse for the webcam IMO (1 pic instead of a history of pics) but I guess if you're not going to have a working camera, it doesn't matter how you display the output.
