Hello all,
I will be going to Boundary Waters in July with my sister (who is very experienced at this) and my kids 17, 15, 10. We will be flying out.

We are entering at Sawbill Lake. I want to do some fishing in addition to the canoeing.

Looking for hints on what not to bring, what to bring, and what to get from the outfitter. Some good hints on fishing would be appreciated.

Any experts out there?

Don't know much about the area except what I gleaned from quick peek at a map. You'll be near Lutsen ski area and the highest pt in MN, about 2300 feet. About 10 yrs ago a ski buddy of mine met up with another friend who lived near St. Cloud and they went with a group of four on a one or two week canoe trip somewhere in northern MN. I seemed to remember his description of the trip as mucho bugs, good eating fish (pike?), cold water skinny dips, lots of fairly demanding portage, and a real taste of the Lewis and Clark lifestyle. Good on ya Wojo.
