i skied at this resort during its previous incarnatation, when it was called elk meadows. very small, and in a very remote location near beaver, utah.

That story reminds me that I need to check how I did with the lottery ticket I got last weekend.
Did you see their master plan:

Hmmm... southern location, failure to develop the highest point, luxury properties along the ridge line... where have we heard of that model before?

they get plenty of snow there, but the existing terrain isnt particularly exciting. in the past it was essentially two small ski areas, separated by a highway. when conditions were just right you could ski from one down to the other. but there was no lift access back up. the upper lifts are tame (mostly greens) but there are some large open bowls just above, as high as 12,000 feet. this area doesnt appear to be a part of the new plans.
the main issue for the resort is access. but this apparently wont be a problem with the new target audience, as they will only be "22 jet minutes" from vegas or slc. that would be private jet, obviously. no scheduled service yet at the beaver county airport.
