Boy, this sounds pretty good....

Saturday May 5th, 8:30 am

Buenos días Sugarbush skiers and riders. In case you haven't already heard, we will be closing out a phenomenal winter season with a Cinco de Mayo bash happening all weekend long. Here's the deal:

The party gets underway today when the Valley House double chair starts spinning at 10 AM. Our operations team worked their magic overnight and we have four trails open today for your skiing and riding pleasure: Coffee Run, Spring Fling, Snowball, and Stein's Run. The groomers made two passes down Stein's so if you're looking to claim a double-black diamond, you now have a smooth way down. The other three trails were groomed as well. In any case, conditions will be for advanced and experts, the sun is already shining and we are skiing and riding in May!

The Valley House will be running from 10 to 4 both today and tomorrow and a $25 lift ticket gets you on the hill for the entire weekend.

But it's not all about the snow this weekend. It is Cinco de Mayo and Derby Day today and we are celebrating accordingly. The BBQ will be fired up at noon, live tunes from the Detonators will start and 2 PM, and the frothy adult beverages will be flowing, so if your legs won't carry you down the hill for just one more day, you can just come up, soak in the sun and listen to the tunes. And if you happen to be into car racing, you can mosey over to the Lincoln Peak parking lot to check out the inaugural Green Mountain Piston Cup. Some of the best autocross racers from New England and Quebec will be competing in a precision driving contest all weekend long in the Lincoln Peak parking lot. The first race gets underway today at 10.
