Just noticed that Mammoth Mountain closed for the 05/06 season yesterday with a base of 1-3 feet (more like 0-8 feet from top to bottom). This year they received their most snowfall ever in a single season (668 inches) but due to a very warm june their base quickly dissipated and they actually had more snow last year at this time of year. As of now Timberline, OR is the only resort remaining open in the United States. So i guess it is now time to start visiting the Mt. Hutt (NZ) webpage and looking at their webcams and dreaming what is in store for the 06/07 season!!

T-line closes in a few weeks for summer repairs, so get your turns in while you can!

I skied at Mammoth last July 4 weekend. I stayed with a friend out there who has a beautiful place in Mammoth Lakes. I had an invite to repeat this year but instead had a bypass operation on June 13, which was a lot less fun but necessary. I am recovering rapidly and plan to ski as soon as the snow flies.

Mammoth is a fun mountain. awesome coverage while I was there on May 16th and 17th.

When they stay open to July 4th is that all week or just weekends?
