Sugar Mtn, NC to possibly open this Weekend

Sugar Mtn., NC, is currently blowing snow and plans to for at least the next 48 hours around the clock. They have been blowing snow for about the last 12 hours. Looks good for a Saturday opening. They are always among the first to open in this area. We in NC may be on the slopes Saturday.

I'm a nc local now & sugar is the best here,But whats up with thier landscaping??They sit in the world capital of frazer fir & not one on the mtn!Nothing but BUTT ugly scrubbrush.To nice of a place not to SPRUCE it up.

I just received this press release from Sugar:

SUGAR MOUNTAIN, BANNER ELK, NC: Dust off your equipment, grab some warm clothes and
head to the South's only open ski resort for a weekend of winter fun. Sugar Mountain Resort opens
tomorrow at 9 am, Saturday, November 15, 2003.

Skiing and snowboarding will be available on the Upper and Lower Flying Mile slopes,
providing a combined run of approximately one mile and 1,000 foot vertical drop. The Yellow lift will
operate to the 3/4 station servicing both slopes. Lift ticket prices will be regular weekday rates.
