Looks like the Pro-Fit Trade-in Event is also on Sat afternoon, Oct. 4.  Can bring in gently used gear, clothing, and even stuff for some other sports besides snowsports that was originally more than $100.  There will be a rep from Sideline Swap coming up with the trade-in price quotes.  If accepted, the seller gets a credit they can use that day or a receipt that can be converted to a gift card.

*SidelineSwap WILL Accept:

  • Items in good working condition
  • Purchased within the last 5 years
  • Original retail value of $100 or more
  • Most sports and outdoor categories including: Snow Sports, Hockey, Baseball, Softball, Golf, Lacrosse, Basketball, Racquet Sports, Camping and Hiking, Fishing, Premium Outerwear, and Coolers

*They Will NOT Accept:

  • Damaged, stained, mildewed, or heavily worn items
  • Items purchased more than 5 years ago
  • Items with an original retail value of under $100
  • Knock-offs, generic store brands, and counterfeits
  • Large, heavy items like kayaks, bikes, treadmills, and free weights

Alpine Ski Shop in Sterling VA is on October 25 & 26.  Always a big event.

Such a great reminder! My son has grown through so many pairs of boots and skis in the last 6 years, and they're all still in decent shape.  May consider taking a trip if I don't see anything local near the Laurel Highlands.  We used to have a few of them here, but now not so much.  If I can't give them to a neighbor who has children who are learning, I'd hate to throw them out.

Has anyone been to the swap at Liberty? I’m wondering if it’s worth a trip. How does it compare to some of the swaps like Alpine Ski Shop, Pro-fit or Ski Center?

^ good to know.  Every year I somehow never know the dates for the swaps / or "the Willi's ski sale," even though I most certainly should. I usually just show up randomly in late october or early november and something's happening.   I've got my own arsenal of outgrown but gently used equip.

The Willi's ski swap benefits the Mon Valley Ski Club. You must specify if you want cash or Willi's store credit. For each item sold, you decide how you'd like to be paid: 80% back as Willi’s Merchandise Credit (never expires) 60% back as a check. In either case, 10% of sales are donated to the Mon Valley Ski Club.
