Whitetail just broke ground on an ambitious new lodge expansion. Despite the record warm season, Snow Time seems committed to improving their local resorts. My hat goes off to them.

From the Whitetail web site:

"Lodge Expansion Continues at Whitetail!
Crews have been working diligently for the last 2 weeks, and things are progressing nicely. We'll be sure to keep you updated to the entire process. Once completed, the 17,000 square ft. addition will bring the retail shop to ground level, make for a more convenient food area flow, add changing rooms, and much more! "

Seems like a huge waste of money...to invest in a business that operates maybe 10 weeks A YEAR! Would you buy stock in this company? Maybe the "Doc" at Timberline has it right!

Whitetail has more real estate that can be developed than Timberline. The new lodge should help them sell more condos--this is where ski companies really make their HAY.

Changing rooms -- thank heaven. My fiancee and I *hate* changing in bathrooms, and that was almost grounds for us to stop skiing at Whitetail.
