Woohoo!  It stayed in the 20s at Massanutten all day today.  Good thing they don't have to worry about running out of water.  Going to be plenty cold for snowmaking the next few days.  With snow predicted for late in the week.  I'll be skiing in NC next week, but will be keeping an eye out for when Paradice opens.

It's 10 degrees in Davis, WV and at Snowshoe right now.

What are you expecting for your favorite mountain in terms of snowmaking and snowfall this week?

8 degrees at Hidden Valley at ~3000 feet.  Snow isn't the problem this year.

Laurel already has all its snowmaking terrain open. Most of its natural snow terrain opened this weekend. They also blew snow on one short trail, Hegan's Cut, that does not have snowmaking infrastructure. It is adjacent to other trails that have snowmaking. I'm hoping they can do the same to Lincoln Highway.

The timeline for the snowstorm in northern VA seems to have shifted.  Now supposed to start Wed night and blow through by Thu afternoon, Jan. 28.  Could be up to 10 inches at Massanutten for a storm total!

Paradice might open later today.  If not, it will definitely be open on Jan. 25.

Well, no snowstorm in northern VA for Jan. 28.  Snow in the forecast for Sunday, Jan. 31.  But the cold temps arrived so plenty of snowmaking this week!  Teens for Massanutten, Bryce, and Wintergreen.  Probably single digits overnight for Timberline, Canaan Valley, and Snowshoe.

Can see whatever you want on Wundermap.  Start with a place of interest and zoom out and move around a little to include the region of interest.  Helps to know the names of towns near the ski areas of interest.  Click on Weather Stations, then Temperature/Wind.  Sometimes I add Radar.

I start with Massanutten, then work to get Davis at the top, Snowshoe, and Elkton (town close to Mnut) into one screen shot.  Mnu is between Harrisonburg and Elkton.  Trying to include Wintergreen doesn't work out that well.
