John Phillips is author of Ski & Snowboard America: Mid-atlantic, now in its second edition with Beachway Press and Globe Pequot Publishing's Outside America guidebook series. His book covers skiing and snowboarding from Pennsylvania to North Carolina, and he also serves as editor for Beachway's Ski America series and reports on the Mid-atlantic scene for several publications. He can be found snowboarding the local slopes on most winter weekends, and manages to blow off his full-time job as a Web marketing manager in northern Baltimore whenever weekday winter conditions permit.

Mid-Atlantic Winter Sports Guide author John Phillips spent the weekend of March 9 at Snowshoe Mountain Resort, and provides a detailed trip report. John found superb spring skiing at Snowshoe. In March alone, Snowshoe has received over four feet of snow.
