New Quad

This past summer, Liberty Mountain Resort undertook and successfully completed a major construction project. Chairlifts two and three on the front side were removed and replaced by a new quad chairlift. This fixed grip chairlift will transport skiers and snowboarders at a rate of 2,400 per hour to the mid-station and the top of the mountain.

Liberty was able to gain more terrain on the front side by removing the two older lifts. In addition, Liberty re-named all its chairlifts to correspond to their areas of service. The front side has the First Class Quad, the Dipsy Double and the Alpine Quad. On the backside you’ll find the Eastwind and Strata Quads.

Increased Snowmaking and Grooming

Liberty added several pieces of state-of-the-art snowmaking technology (including HKD Tower Guns, Omicron Guns and a Fan Gun), and purchased a new groomer for its fleet.

Improved South Pole

Skiers and snowboarders on the back side will find an expanded South Pole refreshment area. The outdoor deck has been expanded to improve seating capacity and provide skiers with more outside seating when the weather is warm -; always a distinct possibility here in the Mid-Atlantic. Liberty also set up a barbeque on its deck, which will tempt skiers and boarders with the smell of hot dogs and hamburgers.

Hotel Improvements

Liberty completely remodeled The Liberty Mountain Resort Hotel, giving the lobby a face-lift and redecorating every room with comfortable and contemporary furnishings. The Liberty Mountain Resort Hotel is available year-round for off-site meetings or conferences.
