Pennsylvania’s Liberty Mountain Resort has made a number of improvements that will benefit children and beginner skiers. The Snow Cat Alley learning area has been enhanced with its own “Magic Moving Carpet” lift, and a variety of snow toys and features will make learning more fun for children. A moving carpet lift has also been added to the First Class beginner’s area to make the first trip up the mountain easier for new skiers and boarders.
The Boulder Ridge Snow Tubing area will see a new, third tow lift, tugging visitors to the top of 10 tubing lanes. A wrap-around deck has also been added to the Boulder Ridge Lodge, increasing seating and the space available for spectactors.
Snowmaking capacity has been increased through the addition of new and higher efficiency snow guns. An additional Pisten Bully snow groomer has also been added to the resort’s grooming fleet.
The Liberty Tavern has been renamed McKee’s Tavern, and will offer a new menu for casual table-service dining. Many rooms in the Main Lodge have also received a facelift.
Liberty’s web site is being updated to offer more on-line features, including the ability to make reservations at the Liberty Mountain Hotel, to plan and purchase a child’s day at the Children’s Learning Center, and to purchase season passes, Advantage Cards, full day lift tickets and rental vouchers, or gift certificates. Several webcams will provide real-time views of the slopes throughout the season.
