Author thumbnail By John Sherwood, DCSki Columnist

Virginia’s Bryce Resort has improved snowmaking capabilities by installing ten new tower guns, bringing its total arsenal to 60.

Bryce has also added 200 more shaped skis and 50 snowboards to its rental fleet.

For skiers and boarders who want to get a head start on the season, Bryce is offering grass skiing and mountain boarding. A first time package is $27 per person (including lesson, lift ticket, rental equipment, elbow and knee pads, and helmet). Grass skiing is available only on Sundays from 12-3 p.m. and may not be available in inclement weather. Call (540) 856-2121 or e-mail bryce@bryceresort.com for more information.
