Virginia’s historic Homestead Resort has added new Rossignol skis and snowboards to its rental fleet, and has enhanced snowmaking with some new SMI fan guns and York tower guns.

According to Michael Valach, the Homestead’s Director of Outdoor Activities and Ski Area, the resort has a new aggressive approach to the winter season and winter activities, with lots of special event weekends and family activities planned throughout the season.

New winter activities this season include snowshoeing and a cross country skiing center with rentals, tours, trail network and instruction. Horse drawn sleigh rides and guided snowmobile tours will also be offered. These activities will take place on the slopes during the evening hours and on other areas when the natural snowfall allows both day and evening hours.
