Pennsylvania’s Whitetail Resort is making several enhancements this summer, improving snowmaking, upgrading its fleet of webcams, and improving the tubing area.

“Every summer it is our number one goal to improve our resort in such a way that it enhances the overall guest experience during the winter months,” said Whitetail President Don MacAskill.

In recent years, Whitetail has invested heavily in snowmaking improvements, purchasing powerful “airless” snow guns and increasing automation. For the 2007-2008 winter season, Whitetail is increasing snow gun automation on beginner terrain. Whitetail has also purchased an additional Areco snow gun to install on the tubing hill. These improvements will allow Whitetail to increase the quality and quantity of snowmaking operations. To keep that snow in perfect shape, Whitetail is also purchasing a new Prinoth snow groomer to add to its grooming fleet.

Whitetail is adding a new private party area at the snow tubing facility, and is also renovating the Kiddie Tubing area. Last winter, Whitetail installed a new magic carpet at the popular tubing facility.

To round out improvements, Whitetail is upgrading its collection of webcams scattered across the mountain.
