From January 4, 1999 through February 26, 1999, skiers and snowboarders can visit both Canaan Valley Resort and Timberline Resort with just one lift ticket, thanks to a joint promotion called “Ski the Valley.” These two West Virginia resorts are located near each other and offer a total of six lifts and 69 slopes and trails, more than any ski area south of Vermont. The Canaan Valley ski area has also added a new tubing park this winter.

The Canaan Valley region is known for snowy winters. With base elevations at 3,200 feet and top elevations reaching 4,300 feet, the region attracts snow and keeps it late into the season. In addition to skiing and boarding, the area offers shopping including art galleries, gift shops, coffee shops, and restaurants. Nordic skiing is also popular in the winter.

The “Ski the Valley” promotion allows skiers and boaders to purchase lift ticket vouchers at selected area lodging facilities and shops. These money-saving dual-resort vouchers cost $57 for adults and $43 for juniors during midweek.

The Ski the Valley promotion also includes a coupon book offering over $3,000 in discounts on lodging, rentals, lift tickets, dining, shopping, and more. Coupon booklets can be requested from the Ski the Valley web site or by calling (800) 782-2775.
