Belle Mountain

Belle Mountain was a lost ski area in Lambertville, New Jersey, that operated from 1965 through 1998. Its relatively small trail network included seven trails served by five lifts — one double chairlift and four rope tows — offering local skiing for more than three decades.

Night skiing was part of Belle Mountain’s character, with lighting extending its operating hours beyond daylight. Although little additional documentation is available here, the area’s long run and compact lift system reflect the role that modest community ski hills played in making winter recreation accessible in the region. Belle Mountain is remembered as a distinctly local New Jersey ski area that remained in operation until the late 1990s before becoming part of the Mid-Atlantic’s lost-ski-area history.
